ACT is an independent, not-for-profit policy advocacy and research institution established with the mission to promote peaceful transition through research, policy, and capacity strengthening. The center works to prevent violent transitions from occurring or strives to transform them into democracy once they have happened. In the context of Ethiopia, the Center's objective is to bolster the ongoing processes of transitional justice and dialogue, consequently fostering and entrenching the culture of rule of law-based democracy. It aims to assist in the designing and implementation of a comprehensive transitional justice process that promises and guarantees effective reconciliation and the non-recurrence of violence.
